Help Scout

Unwrap uses Help Scout to ingest customer conversations and threads directly from your Help Scout mailbox into Unwrap. This allows you to centralize customer insights and support data for analysis and action.

Steps to Integrate

  1. Create an OAuth2 Application in Help Scout Before you can connect Unwrap to your Help Scout account, you must create an OAuth2 application in Help Scout. Follow the instructions here: Help Scout OAuth2 Application Setup

    • Navigate to Your Profile > My Apps in Help Scout and click "Create My App."
    • If prompted for a redirect URL, you can use a placeholder (e.g., https://www.google.com) since the Client Credentials flow does not require user redirection.
    • After creating the app, you will receive a Client ID and Client Secret.
  2. Use the Client Credentials Flow To connect Unwrap to your Help Scout account, use the Client Credentials authentication flow. Follow the instructions here: Help Scout Client Credentials Flow

  3. Name your integration Enter a descriptive name for your Help Scout integration in the "Integration name" field (e.g., "Customer Support Tickets" or "Help Scout Feedback").

  4. Enter your Client ID In the "Client ID" field, paste the Client ID you obtained from your Help Scout OAuth2 application.

  5. Enter your Client Secret In the "Client Secret" field, paste the Client Secret you obtained from your Help Scout OAuth2 application.

  6. Save and activate Once all fields are configured, save your integration to begin automatically collecting Help Scout conversations and threads into Unwrap.
